Heaukulani `ukulele

Heauk Uke
One of the logos used in the Heaukulani line of ukulele instruments is a honu (turtle) common to many Hawaii products with the name HEAUK UKE. It is pronounced HE YOOK YOOK.

When Uncle Dave was in the army in his younger days his army buddies had a hell of a time pronouncing Heaukulani. So they simply called him HE YOOK THE GOOK. It was a term of endearment so the nickname "He yook" short for Heauk stuck like LMI glue (a space age adhesive for luthiers).

Heauk sounds like puke, yes it does
