This is the start of the All Hawaiian 'Ukulele. Constructed entirely of trees that were grown in Hawaii and built by a Hawaiian native craftsman ("uncle" Dave Heaukuani). The neck pictured below is mango and koa. The sides pictured here are koa. Other woods to be incorporated include milo and kolohala. The next step is to build koa and mango braces & lining for the interior. Stay tuned. A YouTube journal will feature the development upon completion. This will be a time consuming project, especially with the fragile milo wood for binding. Since it will be one of a kind intended for museum display eventually, it will be priceless.
